The program provides the connection and the structure. Mentors and mentees bring the consistency, openness, and ownership that make it meaningful.

Mentors & Mentees are expected to provide program feedback. Every response helps the team improve matching, strengthen support, and measure the experience responsibly.

Mentors Commit

  • Meet at least twice a semester

  • Take charge of their careers

Welcome to the College of Engineering Mentoring Program!

Your experience can help an engineering student see what is possible—and prepare for what comes next.

The FAMU–FSU College of Engineering Mentoring Program connects alumni and industry professionals with students from across the College who are navigating career options, internships, graduate school, research, leadership, and the transition from college to the workplace.

As a mentor, you can provide the perspective, encouragement, practical guidance, and professional insight that students may not receive in the classroom. You do not need to have all the answers or commit hundreds of hours. Your willingness to listen, share what experience has taught you, and meet with your mentee at least twice during the semester can make a meaningful difference.

We will use your professional background, areas of expertise, interests, availability, and preferences to connect you with a student whose goals align with the support you can provide.
